Writing a Picture Book

This week we're using the art of photography and combining it with literature and writing. Today, after reviewing plot development, theme development, and character development students outlined ideas for a picture book. Next they took their action figures and toys out to the playground and used digital cameras to take pictures of scenes for their book. Many students have already uploaded the photos onto their One Drive folder and they have learned how to share folders with other students in class who have a similar plots and wish to use the same photos. Tomorrow students will begin using Microsoft Word to write their picture book and import photos for the pictures on each page. We will work on this the next few days and then invite 1st graders in on Thursday as our audience.
