Wire Figures for Art

 Mrs. Kenney visited our classroom today for another session of art. Students used what they learned in past art classes to work on form as they built mini humans out of wrapped wire. 

Computer Science: Programming a Tiny Drummer

 

As we advance in our computer programming, this week we completed the "Tiny Drummer". Although an easier challenge, it possessed the skills needed to understand and complete more advance programming and engineering.  This little drummer simply "drums" the cup.  The next challenge is to make a flower bloom using programming and items to make a physical flower. 

Food Webs

 This week in science we finished making food chains and advanced on to food webs. S

tudents used 20 organism cards for the forest ecosystem. They spread them out and joined cards with paper arrows showing how energy could transfer between organisms in the ecosystem.

3D Printed Chariot Races

 We spent the past few months learning how to use a 3D CAD system online. Using the system, students designed and then 3D printed a chariot that could be pulled by our Spheros.  Friday involved the races of these chariot races.

Liquid Layers

 While learning about density in science, student partners sorted out 4 different liquids, based on their densities today. The task was to try to get all four liquids to stack on top of  each other. Data was first collected by comparing 2 liquids. Then a third was added. Finally, students were able to add the 4th so that all 4 were layered on top of each other.

Reading Week

 In celebration of reading for Reading Week, students were able to dress up each day with specific themes that revolved around our "Ride the Reading Wave" theme our school put together. We had  Beach Hat Day, Pirate Day, Dress in Blue Like the Ocean, Wear a Shirt with Words, and Beach Party Day.

Branding our Art

 Our branding irons are completed and today we heat them up and burned our mark in the frame of one of our art projects.
