What Plants Require

Today we set up an experiment to see what plants really need for their growth. The results should be surprising to the students in a few weeks as we use our findings along with supplemental information to truly understand the biological properties of plants. Our class decided to test the following: A plant deprived of oxygen and carbon dioxide (put in a bag), no water, no soil (only water), no minerals (no soil and put in distilled water), and no light. In addition, we have a control. Today, students set up the experiment and did initial observations, including taking photos of each plant.
